On Wednesday 15 May, the programme will take place at the Masaryk University Simulation Centre (SIMU). SIMU is the most up-to-date simulation centre in Europe and offers a realistic hospital environment for teaching. On the ground floor, there is an emergency room with an outdoor simulation area and a fully equipped emergency vehicle. On the upper floors, there are operation theatres, a delivery room, intensive care units, standard rooms, and rooms for teaching via virtual 3D simulations. There is also a teaching and seminar area with lecture rooms and classrooms. A heliport is located on the roof of the building. SIMU is equipped with real medical equipment, simulators, and teaching models.
16:00 – 18:00 High-Fidelity Hands-on Simulation Workshop organised by EMHG Young members.
Only for anaesthesia or ICU doctors/nurses of any level of experience or medical students, pre-registered only. Previous experience with simulation training is not required.
Small tasting of what the SIMU is best in, and you will have the possibility of first-hand experience! Simulations are beneficial and very efficient in training in dealing with more uncommon but stressful situations. This simulation workshop focuses on ALS and EPALS algorithms, with training in both technical and non-technical skills. After a short pre-briefing, including a safe environment agreement, there will be three hands-on simulations followed by a structured debriefing with a case discussion led by experienced lectors.

17:15 – 19:00 SIMU guided tour + Simulation Workshop „How we teach managing of the MH crisis“
For everybody (including accompanying persons), with limited capacity.
All not participating in Hands-on Simulation Workshop or EMHG EC Meeting will have the possibility to walk through the SIMU with a guided tour (45 min) and after to witness the Simulation Workshop from another perspective. A group of students will train to manage the MH crisis in a simulated environment of operation theatre. You will sit down and watch them via real-time video projection. After the simulation, the most important part, structured debriefing with a case discussion led by experienced lectors will happen directly in the room. The session will end with an open discussion with the possibility to ask more questions and share ideas.
